Holy smokes kids! Fear no more as Batman is here to save you from creepy clowns…and we’re not just talking about the Joker in the comics.
The widespread panic of clowns terrorizing young children has reached across the pond to England. It seems the Brits already have a solution dispatching Batman to save the day!
Cumbria Superheroes, a superhero mascot outlet where you can rent-a-superhero for parties has taken up the cause against scary clowns terrorizing their town.

When the costume company got wind that creepy clowns were traumatizing children they decided to take action. Batman is now patrolling the streets in Whitehaven, Cumbria helping kids feel safe from the scary clown craze.
The company told BBC Radio Cumbria, “We got a lot of reports of kids being scared and not wanting to go to sleep. Kids look up to Batman so we thought it was only our duty to try and look after the little ones. It is safe and Batman is out there looking for these clowns.”
The kids are feeling safer already. One child said, “I’ve just sorted them all out!”
Another message was written on BBC Cumbria’s Facebook wall thanking Batman for his help.
Even mothers are grateful to Batman for his vigilance.
One concerned parent commented, “Just showed my kids this hopeing (sic) this will make them feel better my 9 year old daughter was screaming at 3am shouting the clowns are coming to get me it had taken me ages to get her back to sleep she has bin though so much after being stuck in hurricane Matthew in Florida and a fire on the plane and we come home to clowns trying to scare kids!”
Batman took to Facebook himself warning creepy clowns that they were no longer welcome in their city. He said in the Cumbria Superheroes Facebook video, ‘To all little kids who have been scared of these clowns. You don’t need to worry anymore. Batman is taking care of it. As for you clowns, you wanna scare someone, why don’t you try and scare me!”
However don’t expect Batman to show up at your party anytime soon due to his current commitments. Before signing off he told ‘Holly and Phil’ he’s just too busy fighting clowns to show up at their show.
Batman is even making housecalls visiting children to reassure them they are safe and sound.
The caped crusader has a lot of work ahead of him as incidents reported to local police began days ago and it’s not just children he has to be concerned about. Creepy clowns have no age discrimination when it comes to committing acts of violence. Some of them include:
- At approximately 19:00hrs on Thursday, October 6, a man who was walking towards Latimer Road Underground Station was confronted by a man who was wearing a clown mask and carrying a hockey stick. The suspect jumped out from behind shrubbery and chased the victim; the victim was able to escape. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
- The incident happened on October 10 between 08:00hrs and 09:00hrs at Manor House Gardens, Hither Green. The victim, a 13-year-old girl, alleges she was chased by a individual wearing a clown mask and wig. The suspect was possibly carrying a small penknife.
Commander Julian Bennett, or in this case Commissioner Gordon if you will, has assessed the “Killer Clown” incidents in London where people dressed as clowns armed with knives and jumping out of bushes are frightening children and chasing pedestrians. He said in a press release, “We are currently assessing a small number of reported ‘Killer Clown’ incidents in London, three of which meet the threshold of a criminal offence. Our primary responsibility is indentifying (sic) and investigating those incidents where a criminal offence has occurred. However, anti-social behaviour (sic) can leave people feeling scared, anxious and intimidated and I would urge those who are causing fear and alarm to carefully consider the impact their actions have on others.”
With only weeks before Halloween law enforcement in London is taking action with their annual “Autumn Nights” campaign which deploys “Safer Neighborhood Officers” to be on hand. Wonder if they’ll partner up with Batman.
