Kylie Jenner Facing Dog Abuse Investigation Over Skinny Greyhound
Reality star Kylie Jenner is facing an animal neglect investigation in Los Angeles after officials received complaints over the size of one of her dogs.
Kim Kardashian’s half-sister frequently shares photos and video footage of her pets online, but a clip she posted on social media app SnapChat on Sunday sparked concerns about her Italian greyhound Bambi’s health, as the pooch’s ribcage could clearly be seen in the footage.
Some worried followers flooded Kylie’s social networking pages with negative comments online, with many criticizing the 18 year old for reportedly failing to properly care for her pet.
“FEED YOUR DOGS!” raged one user. “YOU HAVE MONEY, YOUR DOGS SHOULD BE HEALTHY! SHAME ON YOU!”
“That is not normal!!!!!!!!” claimed another Instagram follower. “Poor little guys”.
The SnapChat post has since been brought to the attention of Los Angeles County Animal Control officials, who have been prompted to look into allegations of possible animal cruelty, according to TMZ.com.
A spokesperson for the authorities has declined to reveal how many complaints they have received, but one is enough for them to launch an investigation and determine if charges should be filed.
Jenner has yet to comment on the controversy, but the Keeping Up with the Kardashians regular has already won the support of experts at the Italian Greyhound Club of America, who insist Bambi’s small size is normal for the breed.
A rep for the organization told TMZ Italian Greyhound pups are typically very lean, adding healthy dogs should show “a hint of three ribs and its hip bones.”
Jenner is known for her growing family of pets. She also has two other greyhounds, named Norman and Sophia, while in October, she was rumored to have expanded her brood of pups to include a merle tri English bulldog called Rolly, which she was recently shown hugging on SnapChat.
