Jennifer Lawrence Named ‘Entertainer of the Year’
Actress Jennifer Lawrence has been named Entertainment Weekly magazine’s “Entertainer of the Year” for 2015.
The star is one of the biggest and bankable actresses in Hollywood and has featured in a number of blockbusters including the X-Men franchise and The Hunger Games films.
Lawrence’s most notable role as Katniss Everdeen came to a close this year and while the 25-year-old has finally come to terms with the end of the franchise, she is excited about the future.
“It’s crazy, I signed on to these projects when I was 20 years old,” she told the publication. “I remember being like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to be 25 (years old) when I’m finished. It seemed so far away, (but) it does feel over. It didn’t for a while and I didn’t think it would ever sink in, but it has now. It feels over. And that’s okay. It’s okay to move on.”
One way Lawrence is looking to move on is to step behind the camera and write screenplays and direct a film. She is currently penning a comedy with Amy Schumer, but the actress also wants to helm a movie in the future.
“I’d like to write some stuff that I’m not acting in, too,” she continued. “I want to get back to acting in small, dark stuff. I want to get back into indies. I’d also like to direct a comedy. I have wanted to direct as long as I’ve wanted to act. I just don’t talk about it because I’d rather just do it.”
