Hannibal Buress, the comedian credited with sparking the Bill Cosby sex scandal, is close to landing a role in the movie adaptation of cult TV series Baywatch.

Buress is in final negotiations to join Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in the film, according to multiple reports.

Director Seth Gordon’s film focuses on Johnson’s lifeguard crew and Buress is slated to play a community leader.

The comic’s remarks about Cosby being a rapist during a stand-up show in 2014 came just before a group of women came forward with accusations about the TV veteran’s behavior.

Over 50 women have now alleged Cosby drugged and/or raped them in incidents that stretch back four decades.

Bill Cosby maintains he’s innocent.
