Gordon Ramsay’s family is ‘healing’ after wife Tana tragically suffered a miscarriage.

The MasterChef star had announced news of 41-year-old Tana Ramsay’s surprise pregnancy during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden last month.

During the interview, the combustible chef paused when talking to host James Corden about his children before breaking the news, telling Corden, “We have three girls and a boy… and one more on the way.”

Tana Ramsay’s 49-year-old husband, shared the sad news via an official statement on Facebook on Monday, revealing to his followers that the devastating loss of their unborn baby occurred over the weekend.

“Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months,” he wrote in a post which was accompanied by a picture of the chef giving his wife a congratulatory kiss, as she posed with a medal after completing a half Ironman Triathlon.

“We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes.”

As well as thanking fans for their support, he also thanked the team at London’s Portland Hospital for their help during this difficult time.

“I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done. Gx,” he wrote before signing off.

Ramsay and his wife have three daughters Megan, 18, Holly, 16, and Matilda, 14, and son Jack, 16.

The couple have been raising funds through The Gordon and Tana Ramsay Foundation, in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital, to help seriously ill children receive specialist care, and gain access to pioneering new treatments and cutting edge medical equipment.

In a statement on the charity’s JustGiving fundraising page, they added: “Together, we are also investing in the redevelopment of the hospital to provide state-of-the-art facilities to match the hospital’s world-class care.”
