Filmmaker David Lynch is aiming to dispel rumors about his life by releasing a memoir in 2017.

The Twin Peaks director has teamed up with writer Kristine McKenna, who first interviewed him in the 1970s, to pen Life & Work.

“There’s a lot of bulls**t out there about me, in books and all over the Internet,” a statement from Lynch read. “I want to get all the right information in one place, so if someone wants to know something, they can find it here. And I wouldn’t do it with anyone other than Kristine; she and I go way back, and she gets it right.”

The book will be based on 90 interviews McKenna conducted with Lynch’s family, friends and colleagues. The 69-year-old will then add his own reflections to the interviews.

A statement released by Grand Central Publishing’s executive editor Ben Greenberg read: “His approach to this book is as unique as I would have hoped it to be, and I am fascinated to see where it goes.”
