Paramount has just released a new trailer for the film, which is based on Michael Lewis’s bestselling book, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine.

The trailer opens up on Steve Carell, explaining that the banks have conditioned us to trust them. However, he is questioning the motives behind the banks actions and insisting that they are committing major fraud. Carell, who is joined by Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt, comes up with the ultimate plan to uncover the frauds. The bold investment allows them to uncover the unpleasant world of modern banking and all the rotten schemes behind it.

Carell, Bale, Gosling, and Pitt are joined by a huge ensemble case including Melissa Leo, Hamish Linklater, John Magaro, Rafe Spall, Jeremy Strong and Marisa Tomei.

The major intention of the trailer is to let everyone know how much of an impact this film really is going to make. In between the intense moments are praises for the film and the cast. Expect to hear a lot about The Big Short come Oscar season.

See the new trailer below and make sure to check out the film on December 23.
